Hormone Balancing Chocolate Recipe
As many of you know, we’ve been on a journey to support and balance hormones holistically, and it’s been genuinely encouraging to see how effective small, consistent changes can be over time.
Recently, we discovered the simplest little chocolate + maca recipe, and we had to share it, because it’s honestly too easy not to try. And (drumroll)… it’s also a hormone-supporting recipe.
The best part is that the amounts don’t need to be super scientific. You can absolutely play with the ratios based on your taste and the consistency you like. The maca is what makes this one special.
So… what is maca?
Maca is an herb that comes from the Andes, and it has a naturally sweet, slightly earthy (sometimes chalky) flavor. It’s been studied for its potential benefits in supporting symptoms like insomnia, low energy, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, libido, and even anxiety and depression.
Many of these symptoms have something important in common: they can be connected to low estrogen or hormonal imbalance.
Maca is believed to help support the body by balancing cortisol, estrogen, and progesterone, and by encouraging a more regulated natural cycle, without medication.
How to use maca
You can usually find maca at your local health food store in capsule, liquid, or powder form. For this recipe, you’ll want the powder.
A commonly referenced daily amount is around 2,000 mg per day, but as always, it’s a great idea to check in with your healthcare provider before adding new supplements into your routine, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or managing any hormonal conditions.
If you don’t love the taste, maca is easy to mask with raw cacao powder or even blended into smoothies with fruit.
